01The local market
A Sunshine Coast campaign should begin with the operator's genuine service map rather than claiming the whole region by default. Maroochydore, Caloundra, Buderim and Nambour can involve different travel runs, property access and appointment windows. Ask for the suburb or locality, property and authority type, storeys, requested areas, exterior and roof materials, approximate age, visible condition, access, slope, drains, tanks, gardens, pools, solar panels and preferred timing.
State travel, minimum-job and access conditions before the form is submitted, and keep Noosa or hinterland areas out of the promise unless the business can serve them consistently. Property type changes the enquiry path. The 2021 Census QuickStats for the Sunshine Coast local government area recorded 73.1% of occupied private dwellings as separate houses, 13.0% as semi-detached, row or terrace houses and townhouses, and 12.8% as flats or apartments.
Those dated figures describe the wider council area, not every street or current customer. They support a house path for storeys, side access, tanks, gardens and down-slope drains, plus a managed-property path for common-area authority, resident notice, work hours, parking, hose and power access, pedestrian controls and the exact area under management. Search intent should be separated by surface and outcome before a method is recommended.
A house wash, rendered facade, weatherboard, roof, gutter, driveway, pavers, deck, pool surround, retaining wall, commercial frontage and solar array do not share one pressure, chemistry, access or runoff plan. Photos can assist triage but do not prove the material, coating, asbestos status, paint adhesion, tile condition, stain source or safe process. Ask what the customer wants assessed and let the contractor confirm whether controlled pressure, soft washing, manual cleaning, another method or a specialist referral fits.
Historical Meta delivery supports this service split without proving a Sunshine Coast result. Four reviewed Brisbane-and-Ipswich lead-objective ads recorded Meta platform Leads. One lead-producing message combined roof cleaning, gutter clearing and solar-panel cleaning; others covered exterior house washing, high-pressure and soft-wash options, or driveways and pool areas.
Pre-sale, repainting, kerb appeal, mould, dirt and grime also appeared in the reviewed creative. Those themes can inform separate campaign angles, but the platform signal does not establish which service was requested, whether a quote was accepted, whether work was completed or what commercial value resulted. Runoff is a local booking question, not an environmental badge.
Sunshine Coast Council says releasing contaminants to waterways and stormwater is regulated under the Environmental Protection Act 1994. Its current environmental-pollution page links dedicated fact sheets for mobile cleaning and trade businesses and for roof cleaning and restoration. The council says prescribed contaminants must not be deposited into stormwater drains, roadside gutters or waterways, or left where they could move there.
02The campaign setup
Its examples include dirt, grass or vegetation, oxides and paint from roof washing, oil, paint and chemicals. Roof, gutter and hard-surface enquiries therefore need a containment brief before a fixed appointment. Ask where downpipes discharge, whether they connect to tanks, where street and property drains sit, how the block slopes, whether neighbouring land or vehicles could receive overspray, what residue may be loosened and which products are proposed.
A biodegradable product claim does not make contaminated water acceptable to stormwater. The operator should explain the actual diversion, capture, filtering, clean-up and lawful disposal process that applies to the site, without promising that every roof, driveway or pool surround can be washed in every weather condition. Sewer disposal is not automatic either.
Unitywater says wastewater generated by small business and commercial activity is trade waste and that a business generating trade waste must apply for a permit. It says permits and agreements are issued directly to the business owner and it is an offence to discharge trade waste to the wastewater network without an applicable approval. Pre-treatment can be required.
A campaign should not imply that a customer toilet, gully, laundry, floor drain or onsite system is an approved endpoint. Confirm whether the recovered liquid is trade waste, whose permit applies, what treatment and property conditions apply, or which authorised carrier or disposal pathway is needed. Older or unidentified fibre-cement material requires a safety branch before pressure is discussed.
Queensland asbestos guidance says it is illegal to use a high-pressure water blaster on asbestos-cement roofs, fences and walls. WorkSafe Queensland warns that blasting can destroy the surface and spread fibres across neighbouring properties. Ask for the approximate building age, known material records and safe ground-level photos, but do not ask a prospect to disturb, scrape, climb onto or closely inspect suspect material.
An uncertain roof, wall, eave or fence should move to an appropriate identification or specialist pathway rather than a pressure-cleaning quote. Roof and solar work also needs an access and fall-risk decision. WorkSafe Queensland says businesses must manage fall risks and that control requirements depend on the height, roof slope and task.
03Claims and hand-off
Its guidance says higher-order controls should be considered and that administrative controls or personal protective equipment alone are often insufficient. A lead form can collect storeys, roof form, slope, fragile areas, skylights, panel position, lawful access and known hazards from the ground. It must not invite the customer to climb up for photos or imply that a ladder, insurance statement or general working-at-heights claim makes every roof suitable.
Solar-panel cleaning needs a maintenance claim, not a guaranteed efficiency figure. The Australian Government's Solar Consumer Guide says dirt or debris can reduce generation, but most sloped panels should self-clean in rain and cleaning is only needed in some circumstances. It says customers should check the system documentation and allow a qualified person to clean panels to avoid damage and improve safety.
Ask about the panel and inverter documentation, monitoring concern, roof access, warranty conditions and whether the request is cleaning only. Do not promise a percentage output increase, diagnose an electrical fault or present a general exterior cleaner as authorised to repair the solar system. Product, health and environmental wording should match the real process.
WorkSafe Queensland says workplaces with hazardous chemicals need a register identifying those chemicals and the current safety data sheet for each. Not every cleaning product is classified as hazardous, but non-toxic, chemical-free, pet-safe, plant-safe, allergy-safe, mould-free and environmentally friendly claims can create a broader impression than the label, SDS, dilution, runoff controls or site conditions support. The ACCC says environmental claims must be true, accurate and based on reasonable grounds.
State the product and application conditions that actually apply, protect occupants and gardens, and avoid turning visible exterior growth into a health diagnosis. Price, result and hand-off claims need the same discipline. Define what a package includes, the assumed property size, storeys, access, surface condition, GST, travel, containment, furniture or vehicle movement and exclusions.
A clean can improve appearance without restoring failed paint, repairing roof defects, removing every stain, extending a surface's life or increasing a sale price. Collect safe photos and the decision-maker's details, then explain whether the team will review, inspect, test an area, provide a conditional quote or confirm availability. A submitted form is not a surface diagnosis, runoff approval, fixed price, booked appointment, completed wash or guaranteed result.
