01What changes in Perth
Western Australian Government guidance distinguishes construction of a private garage or other Class 10a building from door servicing. From 1 July 2026, a registered building contractor is not required for relevant Class 10a work valued below $50,000, although building-permit requirements can still apply; other permit work generally uses the separate published registration threshold. That means a Perth campaign should ask whether the enquiry is for the door alone, an altered opening or a new garage, then let the provider confirm the project path.
WA electrical licensing guidance says work above the stated voltage limits requires the relevant licence, and contractors use an EC number in advertising and business materials. A plug-in opener should not be described as fixed-wiring work, while a new outlet or altered installation must be routed correctly.
Joondalup, Wanneroo, Armadale and Rockingham span a long north–south market, so the campaign needs realistic service zones. Coastal exposure may be relevant to product selection, but wind, corrosion and warranty suitability require site and manufacturer evidence rather than a suburb-based guarantee.
