01What changes in Adelaide
South Australia’s published Building Work Supervisor registration conditions contain a bathroom-renovation scope for non-structural restoration, refurbishment and makeovers. It includes non-structural demolition, waterproofing, tiling and organising finishing trades, while expressly excluding the physical performance of plumbing, gas-fitting or electrical work unless the person holds the relevant registration.
This distinction should appear in Adelaide campaign planning: the lead can ask whether services move, but the provider must identify the authorised people and supervision before promising an end-to-end scope.
SA also requires electronic certificates of compliance after electrical, gas and plumbing work, with plumbing certificates due within seven days of completion. Gawler, Tea Tree Gully, Marion and Onkaparinga create different consultation travel and council contexts, so geographic targeting should reflect actual capacity.
If walls, windows, use or structure change, the project may sit outside the non-structural scope and need different approval or provider checks. Demolition of an older room should include asbestos screening without telling the customer to sample material themselves.
