01What changes in Sydney
NSW Health guidance says many beauty treatments, including waxing, electrolysis, cuticle cutting, razor scraping and cosmetic tattooing, are skin-penetration procedures subject to infection-control rules. It also says the business must be registered with the local council and meet relevant planning, building and premises requirements. Sydney advertising should therefore avoid treating every service as a low-risk cosmetic add-on or implying that a general salon registration makes anyone qualified to perform injections or other healthcare procedures.
Creative and forms should name the exact service, practitioner role and location. Parramatta, Penrith, Liverpool and the Sutherland Shire are separate local catchments for maintenance services, and clients may not travel across Greater Sydney for refills or follow-up.
The form can ask about the requested service, current enhancements, self-reported sensitivities, recent products or procedures, event timing and photos. It cannot diagnose skin or eye conditions, supply restricted medicines, guarantee symmetry or retention, or confirm that the client is suitable before the practitioner completes the salon’s intake and any required test.
